The Ontario Plumbing Inspectors Association Inc. (OPIA) is a non profit organization dedicated to protecting the health and well being of the Province of Ontario through safe plumbing. Founded in 1920, our primary purpose is to promote the improvement of plumbing standards to insure protection of the environment, promote the advancement of knowledge concerning the safe installation of plumbing and to insure safe and adequate potable water systems in the Province of Ontario.

 OPIA members include Plumbing and Building Inspectors, Plumbing and Building Contractors, plumbers and apprentices, Engineers, Engineering technicians, Drain Contractors, manufacturers and others interested in the promotion of safe plumbing practices.

By becoming a member of the OPIA, you will gain access to our resources, including a bi-monthly bulletin concentrating on code interpretations and updates, as well as new products and methods entering the plumbing trade. You will also be able to access the expertise of our Code Technical Committee and see past questions that have been asked.

There is also an Annual Meeting and Education Seminar, day and night school courses, and Branch meetings throughout Ontario. OPIA courses are designed for inspectors, plumbers, and apprentices.
