MESSAGE TO ALL FULL MEMBERS,
AFFILIATE MEMBERS
and PAST OFFICERS

5 January 2010
Circular letter to all WPC members
Dear Member,

Key Issue Sheet- Regulating for Health Aspects of Plumbing

As many of you know, WPC has been working with the World Health Organisation (WHO) on a range of projects all of which have the aim of emphasising the health aspects of the plumbing industry.

One of these projects, which commenced during John McBride’s secondment to WHO, is the development of a paper aimed at the WHO Network of Water Regulators. I am pleased to advise you that this paper has now been approved by WHO and I have pleasure in attaching a copy of the approved paper for your consideration and use.

WPC members might wish to use the paper in their work to argue for effective regulation within their countries (with politicians and other influencers) or may wish to promote the paper to their own members.

It is intended that a version of the paper including the WHO and WPC logos will be published over the next few months and copies of that version will be circulated when it becomes available. In the meantime, members are free to use the text (with appropriate acknowledgement to WHO and WPC). It is also hoped that further papers in what may become a Key Issues series will follow.

Yours faithfully,

Robert D Burgon,
Chairman
